If you want to track how many hits come from referrals using server logs, append an identifier, such as “?email” to the end of the URL. Visitors may feel more comfortable using this feature if you allow them to “preview this email” before sending. In addition, assure visitors that the email address will not be used for other purposes. Similarly, it is helpful to have a “printable version” of pages that have white backgrounds and no fixed margins.
